Dayna Shereck, an accomplished musician based in Ontario, Canada, is blending her passion for songwriting with hospitality by launching a unique Airbnb that doubles as a songwriting retreat. Known for her collaborative work in the music industry, Shereck has made a name for herself both nationally and internationally, with songs featured on independent albums and played on BBC radio and across North America.
Over the past 11 years, Shereck has built strong collaborations in Nashville, partnering as an unsigned writer with Dan Hodges Music. Her talent has not gone unnoticed; she was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition from 2012 to 2014, securing a finalist spot in 2014. In Canada, she served as the Songworks Co-Chair in 2017 for the Songwriters Association of Canada, further solidifying her reputation within the industry.
Shereck’s music journey includes the release of her debut EP, “Suitcase Full of Dreams,” in 2015, which coincided with her first film placement in “On The Wing.” Her second EP, “Chasing The Moon,” launched in 2018, received national airplay on CBC Country. In 2020, she collaborated with Jamie Warren and Carrie DeMeyer on the track “Hard to Forget,” which was broadcast on SiriusXM CBC Country. Currently, she is working on her first Americana EP with producer JK Gulley in Kitchener, Ontario.
Located in the picturesque Prince Edward County, Shereck’s Airbnb, named Evermore Guest House, offers a retreat for both vacationers and aspiring songwriters. The guest house is just a five-minute walk from the renowned Royal Hotel and a variety of popular restaurants. Often referred to as the “Hamptons of the North” by Vogue Magazine, Prince Edward County has become a preferred getaway spot, conveniently situated between Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal.
The Evermore Guest House is designed to immerse guests in a musical atmosphere. “There are a few framed song lyrics scattered throughout the guest house, and I plan to incorporate more in the future,” Shereck explained. The property features a music room equipped with instruments available for guest use, a vintage record player, and an eclectic collection of records, alongside a few references to pop sensation Taylor Swift.
Shereck’s love for music is evident throughout the retreat, as she aims to create a space that celebrates her passion. “Music has been a recurring theme throughout my life, even before I became a songwriter. U2 and Taylor Swift hold a special place in my heart, along with all country music,” she shared.
Evermore Guest House is available for rental as an artist’s retreat during the off-season, making it an ideal destination for musicians seeking inspiration and creativity in a tranquil setting. Shereck’s venture not only enhances the local arts community but also offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to explore their own musical talents in a supportive environment.
In combining her musical career with hospitality, Dayna Shereck is creating a haven for artists and music lovers alike, fostering creativity in the heart of Ontario.
