Former consultancy firm Riddle Box has successfully transitioned into KAYA Wellbeing Index, a cutting-edge tech platform aimed at transforming how companies approach employee wellbeing. Founded by Ram Raghavan, the platform empowers businesses to improve engagement, retention, and productivity by integrating emotional wellbeing metrics with performance data.
Initially launched as a consultancy service, Raghavan’s vision for the company was to empower one million people within two years. Kaya Wellbeing Index now offers firms a powerful tool that links wellbeing with business outcomes, providing actionable insights to boost overall performance. The platform’s comprehensive approach sets it apart, measuring employee and customer experience, correlating this data with business performance, and conducting workshops to address cultural gaps and improve connectivity within organisations.
Prominent companies like Hilton and Volvo have already benefitted from Kaya’s insights, improving employee engagement and retention using the platform’s data-driven approach. By combining emotional wellbeing metrics with business data, Kaya offers a unique view into the factors driving employee satisfaction, productivity, and loyalty. This holistic approach has helped numerous businesses achieve tangible improvements in workplace culture and employee performance.
The transformation of Riddle Box into Kaya Wellbeing Index came after Raghavan faced a personal and professional crisis during the pandemic. While hospitalised with COVID-19, he lost all his consultancy clients and was left without revenue or a team. Reflecting on this challenging period, Raghavan said, “I lost all my consultancy clients and had no revenue or team.” Determined to rebuild, he reskilled, returned to his coding background, and developed the tech platform that is now Kaya Wellbeing Index.
Raghavan’s journey from personal adversity to launching a transformative platform has been fuelled by his commitment to improving workplace wellbeing. His own experience of rebuilding his business while recovering from a life-threatening illness has deepened his passion for helping others take control of their own wellbeing and work towards reaching their full potential.
In addition to his work with Kaya, Raghavan is also an accomplished author and thought leader in the human capital space. He has written three books on human capital management, contributed policy papers for the King’s Fund, and worked with over 100 senior leaders at multinational companies. Raghavan’s wealth of experience is also reflected in his role as joint chair of the Institute of Sales Professionals, where he continues to champion leadership best practices and drive improvements in workplace culture.
Kaya Wellbeing Index is the culmination of Raghavan’s decades of experience and his commitment to improving employee wellbeing. The platform offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the same advanced tools that are typically available to larger corporations, giving them the opportunity to address people-related challenges with the same level of sophistication.
By offering actionable insights and tailored support, Kaya Wellbeing Index enables businesses to create healthier, more engaged workplaces. The platform’s focus on emotional wellbeing, combined with Raghavan’s personal journey and expertise, makes it a unique and valuable tool for organisations looking to improve their performance and foster a positive work culture.
With its ambitious mission and innovative approach, KAYA Wellbeing Index is poised to revolutionise how businesses prioritise and manage employee wellbeing.
