CLO Virtual Fashion, a global leader in digital 3D garment solutions, held its annual Enterprise User Summit in Munich on 12th September 2024. The event brought together representatives from over 80 prominent fashion brands, including Hugo Boss, adidas, Gucci, and Marks and Spencer, to explore new trends and innovations in 3D fashion design.
Attendees included 3D creative leads, designers, and pattern makers from major brands such as s.Oliver, Tom Tailor, Fjällräven, and VAUDE. The exclusive event aimed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and industry insights while fostering collaborations that could reshape the future of digital fashion design.
The summit offered a wide range of presentations, panel talks, and interactive booths, giving participants the chance to explore the latest developments in CLO’s ecosystem, which serves as an end-to-end digital workflow solution for garment creation. With the focus on co-creation, this ecosystem streamlines design and production processes, encouraging collaboration among designers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders in the fashion industry.
This year’s summit theme centred on enhancing efficiency in the 3D fashion design process. Discussions revolved around how brands and vendors can integrate more seamlessly, fostering stronger partnerships to drive innovation across the sector. A highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring industry experts Joana Sousa, 3D Lead at FSM, Jessica Lee, President at Unifi3D, and Pedro Dias, Owner of Jadifex. They shared their experiences of using CLO’s platform to collaborate more effectively with brands and achieve quicker results.
Intersport’s presentation was one of the most eagerly anticipated sessions, as they showcased their experience in implementing CLO’s 3D design tools. Etane Ebako from Intersport explained how the use of 3D assets has streamlined their design process, particularly in facilitating communication between creative teams and less visually inclined stakeholders. Ebako noted, “Working with 3D assets made it super easy for our designers and PLMs to visually communicate ideas with buyers who aren’t as creatively inclined, helping us get faster decisions on projects.”
Lisa Kohlert, Vice President of Business Development for CLO Europe, expressed her satisfaction with the event, saying, “It has been inspiring to see so many users engage in conversations and share their success stories with the industry. Our main aim of this year’s summit was to bring the 3D community in Europe together to drive innovation through collaboration and maximise the impact of 3D.”
Simon Kim, CEO of CLO Virtual Fashion, also addressed the evolving role of 3D in the fashion industry, highlighting the shift towards digital co-creation and the increasing value of digital assets throughout the production chain. “In the wake of post-pandemic disruptions, the rapid acceleration of digitalisation has prompted companies to recognise the true value of 3D. The question now arises: What is the true worth of your digital garment?” Kim said.
The event underscored the growing importance of 3D technologies in the fashion world and their potential to drive further innovation and efficiency in the sector.
